SCOTUS

I feel that the most important case that we reviewed in class, the one that means the most to me, is Brown vs. Entertainment Merchants Association. This case is about how California tried to ban violent video games. This would effect me because I pay a lot of videogames, and most are violent. These games get anger out of kids in safe and  simple ways. These games do not "teach kids how to kill people" as several people may believe. Violent video games are a bigger part of our culture, society, and mostly our generation, than many believe. Please leave your view on this below. If you don't know about this topic..welllll....GOOGLE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 Word Memoirs

I'm stuck between two sides.
HE think's I'M the favorite son?!
YOU think I have it good?
Weird is the real "normal" definition
Who said sane is normal
I'm gonna climb to the top
ONE hobby is for the normal
Why should only one influence me
I love to live, run, fun
Whats with all of the labels?

Ups and Downs of Being Gifted and Asynchronus Development

There are many ups and downs of being gifted. One of the bad things is that people always expect more of you. Another is that you always have to do well, in every thing, or people think you are being stupid or just not trying. But I don't even want to get started on parents. Once they find out their children are "gifted" there's no stopping them. They will hold it over your head, when you do something wrong, get a bad grade, or anything else. In the article " Being "gifted" is a Blessing and a Curse for Students". It syas that "many students like this feel a constant pressure to excel at their work". This is exactly how I feel.

However, there are some good things. Teachers respect you in class and what you are saying. Other kids also look toward you for help.  Its kind of rewarding.  Also, you get to do more. For example, my g&t class is not like a regular class. Its more fun. We get to do more things like blogging and cool projects. Also, we don't get graded in a traditional way. We don't really take quizes or tests.

As you can see, there are good and bad things about being gifted. Do you think its good or bad?

Ansynchronous Development is the 3 types of ways people grow. they mature physically emotionally and mentally. I think that I am maturing average on physically (I'm pretty short), but ahead mentally and emotionally. I notice that it also makes people treat you differently. Just because I'm smart people always look to me to help them, solve their problems, or do their work. It stinks.

What do you think you are? Ahead or behind?

School pressure

I always feel that i get pressured to do well, even when im not. its so weird. its probably because i was raised to do my best. its been drilled into my head so much, its subconscious.
