Kickstarter Project

Kickstarter, what I would spend my $500 on:

The first thing would be the product Laser app tag, and I would pledge $120. This means I would get 4 laser app tags for a discounted price. You can attach them to nerf guns, and use the nerf guns as laser tag guns. It is like a real world video game! The camera on the device transmits the image and aiming reticule onto the screen, and by moving the gun around, the aiming reticule moves too.

The second thing I would donate money to is $240 to the Pebble. If I donate this amount, I get two Pebbles in any color.
This product is a very special watch. This watch can be customized with several different screens, has very useful app (such as timers and pedometers) and can connect wireless to iphone/android. This watch is also very sleek and nice looking. I would love to buy this watch.

The third and final thing i would donate my remaining $160 to is the production of the video game "Zombie Playground". It is going to be a video game, with the setting in a school. You play as children in the school, who are fighting to survive. Because of the amount I am donating, I would get a special pair of shoes for my character in the game, ones that will help me in the dark, as well as every single prize before this too.

TripAdvisor is a perfect example of crowdsourcing. It relies on reviews of it's members to give more info about vaction spots, transportation, and trips. It is an example of crowdsourcing because it takes the input of thousands of people to give more info to others. The definition of crowdsourcing is "the act of outsourcing tasks...to an undefined, large group of people (crowd)". This sounds exactly like what TripAdvisor does.

20% project update

So far in my 20% project, I am still researching my project info, which is about weaponry, tactics, and battles throughout history of war. I am doing my best to find websites with good resources, to make my info reliable.

20% project

I just read the articlehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/katherine-von-jan/unstructured-classroom_b_1024404.html?view=print&comm_ref=false. This article is about the 20% project that is taken up by Google employees. It's very interesting, and sounds very fun to do. Since we are going to do this in ROGATE class, I am exited, and can't wait to get started.

Waste Land Documentary

Recently we watched the movie Waste Land. If I would give this movie a rating, I would give it 4 stars ****. Waste Land is a documentary about how an artist, Vik Muniz, traveled to Rio de Janiero, and lived at a landfill called Jardim Gramacho. There, he lived amongst the "Pickers", people who pick recycables out of the trash. Throughout the film, I had the same opinion of the people. I respected them for what they did , and how they chose an honest living over a life of drugs trafficing or prostitution.. However, I also feel bad for them because of the fact hat almost all of them have a depressing backround or current life.
Vik Muniz greatly helped the people of Jardim Gramacho. He gave them hope and a reason to continue what they do.
This film did make me consider how much garbage is produced on a daily basis. It is very disgusting how much we use.
Another area of society that could be highlited in this artistic way  is the fast food industry. Many people believe that if you work at something like McDonalds at an older age, you're stupid and poor. But that might not be the case. Also, there are many other groups too.
